EASTER EGG - Free crochet pattern


MATERIALS

▪ 2 colors of sport weight organic cotton yarn (50g = 160m), 3.00 mm crochet hook, stuffing, pins, tapestry needle, scissors


ALT 1

A = Pink yarn

B = Yellow yarn


ALT 2

A = Yellow yarn

B = Green yarn


ALT 3

A = Green yarn

B = Pink yarn

st = stitch

ch = chain stitch

sl st = slip stitch

sc = single crochet

hdc = half double crochet

inc = increase

dec = decrease

cc = change colour



INSTRUCTIONS

▪ The egg is crocheted in a spiral. ▪ The egg is crocheted with two colors, color A and B. Start to crochet with color A.


r 1: 2 ch, 8 sc in the second ch from the hook. (8) = magic circle

r 2: [sc, inc]x4. (12)

r 3: sc, inc [2 sc, inc]x3, sc. (16)

r 4: [3 sc, inc]x4. (20)

r 5: 2 sc, inc [4 sc, inc]x3, 2 sc. (24)

r 6: [5 sc, inc]x4. (28)

r 7: 3 sc, inc [4 sc, inc]x3, 3 sc. (32)

r 8: [7 sc, inc]x4. (36)

r 9-10: 36 sc. (36)

r 11 (in the front loop): [skip 1 st, 5 hdc in next st, skip 1 st, sl st in next st]x9.

▪ cc to colour B. r 11 (in the back loop): 36 sc. (36)

r 12-15: 36 sc. (36)

r 16: [4 sc, dec]x6. (30)

r 17: [3 sc, dec]x6. (24)

▪ Stuff your easter egg.

▪ Cut off the yarn and fasten the ends.


ASSEMBLING ▪ Stitch down the scalloped edge on the egg.
